Buyers for China dominated sales this week followed by support from India.
Sales will be held in Sydney and Melbourne next week, when 19,819 bales are currently rostered for sale. Present estimates for the following two sales are 39,552 and 42,500 bales, respectively, a decrease of 3.4% over the three sale period when compared with last year.
In South African sales, where 17,895 bales were on offer, the Cape Wools Indicator was down by 9.1% since last sale against a 4.8% appreciation of the Rand against the US Dollar and a 1.6% appreciation against the Euro. This was the last South African sale of the season. Sales will resume in mid-August.
