Composite filament market depicts steady demand

In the past week, although overall polyester filament market was unsteady, composite filament in Shengze market performed well. Downstream demand was stable and price remained steady.
For example, composite DTY yarn 215D - 225D (excellent grade) was priced at 15000-15500 Yuan per ton, DTY105D (excellent grade) was traded at around 18000-18800 Yuan per ton.
FDY demand from lower weaving reaches was flat. In contrast, demand for DTY 105D composite filament was stable which is mainly used in weaving suede fabric.
The suede fabric made from blend of filament and cotton yarn has a very good market, due to which demand is good for the filament yarn. In addition, island composite DTY yarn 160D, 180D also showed signs of enlarged demand.
The main reason for this is that, most of these filaments used in production of single weft suede fabrics, and some are also used in production of two-weft suede.
Analysis of the market conditions shows that currently sales of island suede fabrics are stable and production and market demand are basically balanced and most manufacturers are based in Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
Shengze is the major production and sales base of air-jet suede fabrics. Air-jet suede fabrics have seen increased demand in home textile industry with each passing year, which in turn has turned favourable for composite filament market.
