First enquiries for new cotton crop

Just like last week, demand on the European market was very restrained. The majority of requests aimed for satisfaction of small short-time demand before the beginning of the company holidays.
Merchant circles reported furthermore on some enquiries for August/September and a couple of enquiries for the 1st quarter 2010 for West African, Central Asian and Greek descriptions.
However, these did not yet lead to closed contracts since there was a tremendous price-gap. The Far-East-market was called overall more interesting.
Small sales of West African, Central Asian and Greek cotton were registered for near dates in the Upland-range. Short-time ELS-/LS-need was satisfied with US-Pima.
