Jun '09
It has been reported that the expansion project of Dushanzi Petrochemical to process 10 million tons of cruel oil and one million tons of ethylene, will be officially put into operation within this year, since it is nearing project completion.

After being put into operation, Dushanzi Petrochemical will be China's largest integrated oil refinery project. The plant will significantly increase market supply due to which enterprises in lower reaches of the Northwest region are expected to benefit from it.

Dushanzi Petrochemical is located in the Uygur Autonomous Region in Xinjiang, currently has a crude oil processing capacity of six million tons per year and ethylene production capacity of 220,000 tons per year.

In August 2005, the China National Petroleum Corporation started the construction of expansion in capacity at the Dushanzi petrochemical plant, with a total investment of nearly 30 billion Yuan.
