Zulu Creative, a Midtown Houston-based niche marketing and brand development agency, has teamed up with TOMS Shoes to celebrate its 3rd anniversary by hosting a TOMS "Style Your Sole" shoe designing party which will provide children in need with a new pair of shoes and partygoers the experience to be a shoe designer for a day.

Tina Zulu, the founder of Zulu Creative, has been an avid supporter of TOMS Shoes since learning about the company and its commitment to social entrepreneurship. The mission of TOMS Shoes is simple. With every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One.

"We've been blessed with the opportunity to build relationships with other businesses and individuals who feel a responsibility to take care of their community and the causes near and dear to their hearts," says Tina Zulu, Founder and Chief Creative Officer. "We're simply connecting the dots by hosting this event and giving everyone a chance to be a part of something good."

"TOMS is excited to be working with Zulu Creative again for a 2nd Style Your Sole party," says Blake Mycoskie, Founder and Chief Shoe Giver of TOMS. "They've been such great supporters of TOMS Shoes since day one, and their creativity and excitement about spreading the TOMS One for One movement through another Style Your Sole is always inspiring. We look forward to another great event, putting new shoes on children's feet, and of course congratulations on Zulu Creative's 3rd birthday celebration."

Zulu Creative's 3rd Birthday Celebration & TOMS "Style Your Sole" shoe designing party will be held at Spacetaker's Artist Resource Center (ARC) at Winter Street Studios, 2101 Winter Street in Houston, July 26, 2009, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. It's a free, all ages event.

A wide assortment of TOMS shoes will be available for purchase, including TOMS 2009 Fall Collection from Whole Earth Provision. Art supplies, refreshments, vibes and positive rhythms by DJ Chicken George will be provided. Special guest, GONZO247, a local Houston urban street artist, will be in attendance designing shoes to commemorate the event.

Zulu Creative would like to recognize and thank the generous co-sponsors of the event - Aerosol Warfare Gallery, Boheme, CKC StART, Copy.com, DJ Chicken George, Fontana Coffee Roasters, GONZO247, Grizzaffi Coffee, LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, Jerry's Artarama, Old New Orleans Rum, Saint Arnold Brewing Company, Sharpie, Slow Dough Bread Company, Spacetaker, Trentino Gelato, Vitamin Water, Whole Earth Provision, Yellow Magazine, and Yelp.

In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. TOMS far exceeded its initial expectations and has given over 140,000 pairs of shoesto children around the world.
