Optical illusions are used in garment making for giving the effect of false shoulders, high waistline or puffed skirt. Design experts of today believe that stripes are fashionable, original and create various optical illusions in a costume.
Various methods are devised and calculations have been executed for designing garments with slope angle effect, where stripes match on side seams, and other divisions.
Apparels should be made in a straight silhouette, and its width at the hip line is made multiple to the size of the diagonal repeats measured across the intersection of stripes of weft repeat with the hip line or the bottom line.
Algorithms are developed to enable optimum solutions for model sketches, and to eliminate defects causing mismatch of stripes in the construction at all design stages.
