Oerlikon Textile, which is one of the leading suppliers of textile and nonwovens production machinery, has been put up for sale by its owners. Oerlikon Textile is a division of the Switzerland based, Oerlikon Group.
Fibre2fashion spoke to Mr Andre Wissenberg in the Corporate Communications Department of Oerlikon Group, who confirmed the news. Oerlikon Textile has interests in many textile machinery segments, like ring spinning, nonwovens, embroidery, etc.
The main reason for the sale of its textile division is to concentrate and focus on its other divisions that manufacture machinery for making thin-film silicon solar modules and coatings and industrial vacuum systems, which are small but profitable.
Neumag, the nonwovens business unit of the company is a one stop shop for all nonwoven machinery and processes and its unique portfolio of key technologies, enables it to provide turnkey Airlaid, Carding and Spunbond lines.
