OMNOVA announces price increases in specialty chemicals

OMNOVA Solutions' Specialty Chemicals business announced a price increase of $0.12 per dry pound for all GenFlo, GenCeal, OMNABOND, GenCryl and GenCal styrene butadiene based emulsion polymers.
The increase is effective August 1, 2009 for all specialty markets including coatings, tape & adhesives, nonwovens and construction, and is in addition to previously announced increases. It is necessitated by the rapid escalation in the costs of butadiene and styrene petrochemical feedstocks.
OMNOVA Solutions Inc is a technology-based company with 2008 sales of $869 million and a current workforce of 2,415 employees worldwide. OMNOVA is an innovator of emulsion polymers, specialty chemicals, and decorative and functional surfaces for a variety of commercial, industrial and residential end uses.
