Sears Canada Inc is issuing a safety recall for Mini Boots and Baby Boots girls' fooler shirts, and alerting customers of a potential safety hazard. It has been discovered that the snaps on the shirt can become detached posing a choking hazard.

The Baby Boots fooler shirts were sold in infant sizes 16lb - 30lb and the Mini Boots fooler shirts were sold in toddler sizes 2 - 5.

Both shirts were sold at Sears Canada retail stores between July 06, 2009 and July 21, 2009. The item numbers 16808, 16809, 26572, 26573, can be found on the price ticket and bill of sale. The shirts were available in two colours, pink or purple with an attached white turtleneck.

In the interest of consumer safety, Sears Canada urges customers who have the affected shirts to stop children from wearing them and return the shirts to their nearest Sears department store for a full refund if accompanied by a receipt of sale or Sears Card statement, or for the lowest selling price without a receipt.

Sears Canada has received no reports of incidents or injuries to date.

Sears Canada will be posting signs in all of its retail stores to advise customers of this safety recall. Sears Canada is bringing this matter to the public's attention in the interest of consumer safety and apologizes for any inconvenience.
