Regional delegates got a glimpse of the blooming fashion designing industry in Fiji at the Pacific Youth Festival cultural show - July 14, 2009.

The PYF Cultural Nights programme coordinators organised a fashion show segment that showcased the work of local designers like Rosie Semisi, Naziah Ali, Josaia Wainiqolo and Sabrina Acraman.

Cultural Nights programme coordinator, Allan Alo said the fashion show was organised not only to relate the development of fashion to Pacific Identities but also to showcase Pacific talents.

“Designers showcased a range of garment pieces including hair, make up, body art and accessories art “said Alo.

“We divided the show into two segments with dance and live entertainment in between intervals.”

The show included a few contemporary pieces by 18year old Michael Onsio.

Onsio who was the youngest designer at the show took the opportunity to show off his Fusion- East Meets West collection and body art work.

This Cultural Night Programme will feature performances by country delegations from Cook Islands, FSM, Solomon Islands, American Samoa, PNG, Nauru, Wallis and Futuna, Kiribati, Tonga, Marshall Islands, Tuvalu and Fiji.
