The cotton marketing season which began in May will end in this week of August, according to the manager of Sikhulile Swaziland Cotton Ginnery, Mr Msibi.

He said the cotton farmers would have to sell their cotton crop before August 14, as the cotton marketing season ends from that day. The farmers have been offered a guaranteed price of E4.60 per kg for first grade cotton.

The ginnery till date had purchased 1,470 tons of cotton and before the season was over he expected it to reach 1,700 tons, against 394 tons purchased last year.

The Swaziland Cotton Board has offered free transport to cotton growers who form a group and who want to sell their crop to the ginnery. This makes it easy for the Cotton Board to collect the cotton in one load.
