Kuwait Petroleum & Sinopec identify site for petrochemical refinery

The petrochemical refinery project between Sinopec and Kuwait Petroleum and Petrochemical Company with an investment of US $9 billion has chosen East Sea Island in Zhanjiang, China as the site of the joint venture.
Project owners expect to obtain approval from National Development and Reform Commission in the coming months, the project is planned to put into operation by the end of 2013.
Joint venture partners include China Sinopec, Kuwait Petroleum and Petrochemical Company and other potential international partners. This week, Sinopec and Kuwait Petroleum will start the job of feasibility study on the new site.
