A spokesperson of the China Ministry of Commerce informed that the Ministry of Commerce organized two business delegations to promote cross-strait economic cooperation with Taiwan in May and early July this year.

These two groups signed procurement contracts for nearly US $1 billion in Taiwan and that another procurement amount of US $2.8 billion is expected to be made within this year.

Yao Jian said that the next delegation to Taiwan will be headed by Tang Wei Ren, Executive Vice President of the Association of Economic and Trade Exchanges and will compromise officials from different ministries and departments.

The 140 member strong delegation will also include representatives from different trade associations and business groups like Lenovo Group, Konka Group Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Shenzhou Computer Company and other major companies.

The procurement of goods will focus on chemical, mechanical, electronic, textile and light industries in Taiwan.
