According to a sample survey conducted by the China Textile Association, production of chemical fibers reached about 505,900 tons in June 2009, an increase of 6,100 tons over the previous month or up by 1.22 percent.
June sales stood at about 502,400 tons, an increase of nearly 15,100 tons, or 3.09 percent, over the previous month, and nearly an increase of 8,500 tons year-on-year, or 1.72 percent.
June stocks were about 259,600 tons, up by 2,200 tons or 0.85 percent over the previous month, but down nearly 11,700 tons, or 4.31 percent, from the same period last year.
Cumulative production of chemical fibers touched 2.95 million tons in the first half, a slight increase of 0.35 percent year-on-year.
Cumulative sales also stood at about 2.95 million tons, an increase of nearly 68,800 tons, or 2.38 percent over the same period last year.
