First ever white paper on quality of imported & exported goods

The Inspection and Quarantine Bureau of Xiamen, released China's first White Paper on product quality of imported and exported goods. Among imports and exports from Xiamen, failure rate of exports is much lower than imports.

Officials from Bureau point out that the failure rates of exported goods from Xiamen ports in the first half stood at 0.1 percent by volume and 0.08 percent by value from amongst all exports, clearly lower than 0.16 percent and 0.1 percent, from the same time last year, respectively.

While failure rates imported goods was much higher and were 23 times by volume and an awesome 100 times by value, when compared with the volume and value of exported goods and it was 2.3 percent and 9.3 percent, higher than the same time last year, respectively.

The White Paper indicates that quality failure of imported goods particularly those of agricultural products was on the higher side. Failure rate of cotton imports reached more than 70 percent.
