Govt takes time-befitting steps to regain jute glory- Minister

Bangladesh Textile and Jute Ministry is taking effective and time-befitting steps with complete efforts to develop jute sector. It will help this potential sector to regain its past glory soon, said Mr. Abdul Latif Siddiqui, Textiles and Jute Minister while speaking at the conference with Managing and Deputy-Managing Directors of various banks.
The Minister asked to take coordinated efforts for the promotion of jute sector as negligence from the past government had taken its toll on such a potential sector. Widening the export markets of jute along with multiplying its use is essential to get back its glorious past, underlined the Minister.
Apart from this, the Minister will be physically present in BJMC office every Sunday and in the office of the Jute Department on any other day of the week in order to supervise and review the conditions of the state-run jute mills.
