Low turnovers in cotton market

In the past week the cotton prices continued to keep their firm tendency. Few enquiries by the domestic mills´ buyers to the merchants ended only in few cases in the conclusion of contracts. Only on the extra-fine cotton market, lots could also be placed for shipping dates in the 2nd quarter of 2010. Otherwise, purchases were just made to fill most necessary gaps and for the near date.
In the Upland range were traded: Central Asian sorts for the 1st quarter 2010, West African styles and Greek descriptions for prompt / 4th quarter.
From the extra-fine sector, turnovers were reported in Sudan Barakat for the 4th quarter 2009; USA Pima for the 2nd and 3rd quarter 2010, and Israel Pima for prompt and for the 2nd and 3rd quarter 2010, as well as ACALPI for the 2nd and 3rd quarter 2010.
