According to the Federal Minister of Textiles, the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan have directed his ministry to take immediate corrective measures for rescuing the textile industry from the crisis.

This according to them would enable the industry to compete in the worldwide markets and meet the expectations of the overseas buyers along with which it will also help boost industrial production of the sector.

Addressing a conference, he said all steps would be taken by his ministry to develop the textile industry in consultation with stake holders and the recommendations of the committee constituted by the ministry would be implemented as and when it is received.

He said that a meeting of representatives from all the sub-sectors of the textile industry would be held to address the issue of shortage and rise in prices of cotton yarn and take appropriate measures to rectify this vital issue.

To address the issue of training manpower, two modern training institutes are being setup at Faisalabad and Karachi to impart training to employees of various factories, which will enable them to get jobs and work more efficiently.
