Mind Over Fabric & live in positive fashion

Mind Over Fabric introduces its first collection of message apparel with uplifting messages designed to create a positive state of mind for the wearers of the clothing and anyone with whom they interact. The teaching, “Change the way you think and you change the fabric of your existence,” represents the company's philosophy behind the new line.

The clothes feature thought-provoking messages such as, “Surrender to be free,” “Even in great numbers, we are all one,” “Love being,” and, “This time tomorrow it will still be now.” The messages are artistically presented on soft, premium organic cotton tops, including hoodies, classic T-shirts, V-necks, tank tops and raglan split necks.

The timing couldn't be better. As Mind Over Fabric founder John Viscount comments, “Life is a mental state, so it makes sense to pay close attention to what you hold in mind, because it becomes your reality. A single positive insight can change everything, and in the current economic climate, keeping our spirits up and finding new, empowering ways to look at our lives is more important than ever. With a positive point of view, life is not only much more enjoyable, it is also more healthy.”

Viscount hopes Mind Over Fabric can be a bellwether force, benefiting from, but also helping to define, the Positive Culture wave gaining momentum in the U.S. and the world. In the last several years, positive psychology courses have cropped up on more than 100 college campuses across the country. In fact, a positive psychology course is currently one of the most popular classes at Harvard.

In addition to clothing, mindoverfabric.com provides an educational portal for people looking for positive inspiration. The site features an essay written by Viscount called, “The Endless Joy of the Spiritual Mutt,” which advocates drawing upon wisdom from a variety of spiritual teachings from around the world to create a more inclusive and joyful worldview. The site also has an inspiration section that lists the transformational books that inspired the line and includes book reviews written by Viscount.

An accomplished copywriter in the advertising industry, Viscount became inspired while immersing himself in the books listed on the website and began looking for a way to distill and share the teachings. He quickly saw the creative potential in merging fashion's talent for dressing up the external world with the ability of positive messaging to dress up the internal world.
