Reasonable week for wool trading

Buyers for China were dominant, followed by buyers for India and Taiwan with buyers for Europe less obvious than in the previous two weeks.

Sales will be held in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle next week, when 45,711 bales are currently rostered for sale, an increase of 2.7% when compared with the same sale last year. This is the last sale before the three week Christmas break. Sales resume in the week commencing 11 January (Week 29).

In South African sales, the Cape Wools Indicator was up by 3.4% since last week against a 3.5% depreciation of the Rand against the US Dollar and a 1.0% depreciation against the Euro. 11,670 bales were on offer.
