'The Royal Pashmina' exhibits 85 designs of shawls

Around 85 Pashmina shawl designs recreated by craftsmen from Jammu and Kashmir are on display for the visitors at a seven-day exhibition opened on 21st December at the Indira Gandhi National Centre of the Arts (IGNCA) New Delhi, as part of a program to document the craft.
These shawls carry designs inspired from Mughal and Afghan period.
The designs, put on display in the exhibition, were sourced from numerous European and Asian museums and private collections. This is a part of Jammu and Kashmir State Handloom Development Corporation's initiative of documenting 600 designs of Kashmiri Pashmina shawls.
300 of these 600 documented designs had already been exhibited earlier and 85 are on display in this ongoing seven-day exhibition titled 'The Royal Pashmina'.
