The Federation of Handicraft Associations of Nepal (FHAN) will conduct its 8th Handicraft Trade Fair in Kathmandu. The fair that will open on February 18 and continue till February 22, will comprise of 10 pavilions displaying variety of locally produced handicraft items, including handmade paper, natural fiber products, silver-wares and Pashminas.
According to the Assistant Secretary of FHAN, Mr. Dev Raj Bajracharya, it has been anticipated that around 150 stalls would be set up in the fair, which will also include the 6th Craft Competition, live demonstrations by craftsmen, cultural and musical programs and seminars on several topics.
Key purposes of this trade fair are to create a forum for handicraft goods producers and exporters of the country and encourage their creativity and also make them capable of participating in global trade fairs.
The country ships around 40 kinds of handicraft products to over 85 countries across the globe.
