'VASTRA 2010' - most awaited textile festival to arrive

VASTRA 2010 - A National level Textile festival organized by the Textile Manufactures Department, VJTI Mumbai strikes into action this year on 19-20 February 2010. After 7 years of true success, Vastra gets bigger and better this time by embracing all aspects of the multifaceted textile industry. Right from the application of smart textiles in apparel industry to the development and use of technical textiles for the nation; you will find it all here!
The Textile Manufactures Department of VJTI; the most premier engineering institute in Mumbai holds an unparalleled record of 122 years in the field of teaching, research and technology. The Department has carried out a number of industrial consultancy projects including the one for paved and unpaved roads (geo-textiles) sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The Department is complete with up-to-date state of the art technology for current industry needs and has catalyzed a host of innovative technologies to solve the biggest hurdles in the textile sector.
But as 'Change is the mantra of the new generation'; in this strive towards perfection, we often need to stand and stare plus debate the latest offerings of the technology. Vastra offers one such unique chance where versatile talents from all corners of the nation come together to share and create wonders!
In addition to the customary National level paper and poster presentations, VASTRA 2010 escalates higher this time convoluting lots of exciting events, competitions and exhibitions.
To mention a few, the 5 mega attractions include Style-on-Stage alias Fashion Show, Garment Designing, Live projects, Technical Quiz and Movie-making contests.
