Demand for flooring solutions shoots up

The international trade fair for carpets and floor coverings in the MENA region, 'DOMOTEX Middle East' revealed that UAE is an important growth market for the exhibitors of forthcoming trade fairs, as the country's share is around two-third in the US $22 billion, which is an estimated amount of interior design contracting projects executed or under execution in 2009 and 2010, in the GCC.
Interior design contracting project covers the entire floor covering requirements of construction projects. This contracting project covers 15 to 20 percent of the total project value. This year, 'DOMOTEX Middle East' is scheduled to be organized during 10-12 May, at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre (DICEC).
It will display an array of carpets and floor coverings, comprising, hand-made and machine-made carpets; textile and resilient floor coverings; parquet and other wood floors; laminates; floors for sports arenas and sports facilities; fibres, yarns and textiles; application and floor laying techniques and equipment; machinery and technology.
Ms. Angela Schaschen, Managing Director, Deutsche Messe Dubai Branch said that, as per a study undertaken recently, demand for carpets and floor coverings is mounting up due to a number of construction projects in the GCC. Besides UAE; Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries are also the key investment destinations as these markets are witnessing balanced growth in development activities.

A number of global industry entrepreneurs are showing interest in participating in this international trade fair. All required preparations have been made to meet the requirements of regular as well as new exhibitors, and to fulfill the demands of trade buyers, added Ms. Schaschen.
DOMOTEX Middle East has set its focus on the retailers and wholesalers from the sector, decision-makers of construction companies, architects, interior designers, project planners, floor layers and fitters.
