GlobalTex to present 'Trend Watch'

Next week, GlobalTex opens in Los Angeles and The FabricLink Network, will present “Trend Watch”, a Fashion Industry Panel.

The Panel will consist of four leading categories in textiles; focusing on current and evolving fabric trends impacting today's fashions. Each panelist will discuss important trends and innovations in their respective areas, and offer pertinent forecasting information for the industry as a whole. The represented industry segments will include: Fibers and Yarns, Knit Fabrics, Woven Fabrics, and Dyeing/Printing/Finishing.

The panel will discuss recent fiber and yarn developments, knit and woven fabric constructions, print and pattern trends, as wel as finishes and treatments generating interest. The panelists will share insider information on their respective businesses, and will show how innovative fabric developments can stimulate new fashion trends in the marketplace.

This is an opportunity for the industry to hear from the experts, and use their expertise and creative insight to excite consumer interest at retail.

• Knit Fabrics: Pat Tabassi, Marketing Manager, Design Knit, Inc.
• Woven Fabrics: Thomas Oviedo, Sales Representative, California and International Markets.
• Dyeing/Printing/Finishing: Tom Lorber, VP Sales/Merchandising, Prima-Tex Industries, Inc.

Fibers and Yarns:
David Sasso, VP of International Sales, Buhler Quality Yarns, USA - Throughout his career, David Sasso has held various positions ranging from production planning, manufacturing, engineering, and sales. While most of his background has been centered in the yarn spinning area, he has also gained invaluable experience in weaving, and knitting. In his current position as VP of International Sales and Marketing for Buhler Quality Yarns, USA., David's major focus has been in establishing retail and brand relationships and integrating Buhler Yarns into their supply chains as a major contributor in value added apparel.

Woven Fabrics:
Thomas Oviedo, Sales Representative, California and International Markets, America, Carr Textile Corp. Thomas has a decade of experience in the textile industry. He is currently Sales Representative for Carr Textile covering California and International Markets, focusing on Central and South America, Carribean, Mexico, and Asia. Prior to Carr Textile's acquisition of Saxon Textile, Thomas worked in the garment district of New YorkCity with Saxon Texile/Duro Industries. Thomas has extensive experience in woven textiles working with the following markets: apparel (in women's, men's and children's), outerwear, workwear, uniforms, health care,safety, home furnishings, and accessories.
