Omnova Solutions increases prices of specialty chemicals

OMNOVA Solutions' Specialty Chemicals business announced a price increase of $0.06 per dry pound for all GenFlo, GenCeal, OMNABOND, GenCryl and GenCal styrene butadiene based emulsion polymers.
The increase is effective March 1, 2010 for all specialty markets including coatings, tape & adhesives, nonwovens, textiles and construction, and is in addition to previously announced increases. It is necessitated by the continuing escalation in the costs of butadiene and styrene petrochemical feedstocks.
OMNOVA Solutions Inc. is a technology-based company with 2009 sales of $696 million and a current workforce of 2,300 employees worldwide. OMNOVA is an innovator of emulsion polymers, specialty chemicals, and decorative and functional surfaces for a variety of commercial, industrial and residential end uses.
