The New York cotton quotations for the front trading months stabilized on a high level at the beginning of the reporting period. In the further course of the week they continued to rise. Hence, the offering prices in the origins remained firm, also due to restricted availabilities. The parity of the Euro and the US-dollar was another obstacle for buyers on Euro-basis. Nevertheless, contracts not only for short term supply could be closed. In the extra-fine range even long term sales were concluded for delivery in 2011.

In the Upland range turnovers were reported for Central Asian sorts for prompt and further until the 3rd quarter 2010; West African styles for prompt through 3rd quarter 2010; Syrian, Greek and Brazil cotton respectively for dates in the 2nd and in the 3rd quarter 2010.

From among the fine / extra- fine varieties were traded: Sudan Barakat for prompt and further in the 2nd and in the 3rd quarter 2010; California Acala roller ginned for the 2nd and for the 3rd quarter 2010; Israel Pima for prompt through 3rd quarter 2010 and for dates in the 1st and 2nd quarter 2011; USA Pima for prompt through 3rd quarter 2010 and for the 1st and 2nd quarter 2011, as well as Egyptian GIZA 70 for prompt.
