Lahore to have leather city

A Leather city is being planned by Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) near Raiwind, Lahore in a joint partnership with Punjab Industrial Estates (PIE).
For the purpose, PTA has formed a committee, which includes members like Chairman PTA (North) Muhammad Naim Sheikh, S.M Naseer, PTA former Chairman Khurshid Alam, Agha Saiddain, and Mansoor Iqbal.
The decision of building a leather city was taken to utilize the inherent prospects of the leather industry and increase exports. PTA members also hope this development will encourage leather exports.
