Overview of Caprolactam market

Sinopec has listed its Caprolactam price for March at 20,100 Yuan per ton. Baling Petrochemical has two production lines totaling to 140,000 tons per year and it almost maintains full operational rates.
Nanjing Oriental Caprolactam Factory is quoting Caprolactam at 20,600 Yuan per ton. It has a Caprolactam capacity output of 160,000 tons and it too is running at full production rates, with stocks at low levels.
Shijiazhuang Chemical Fiber plans to put its two production lines with a capacity of 165,000 tons per year, under maintenance in April. The overhauling is expected to last 10 days.
Imported Caprolactam in spot market has stabilized at US $2480 per ton (CFR China main port L/C90 days), however psychological price of buyers stands at $2450 per ton, (CFR China main port L/C90 days).
In the domestic market, spot market price (in RMB) of imported Caprolactam is steady at 20,800-20,900 Yuan per ton, but traders are cautious and hold wait-and-see attitude, although, trade atmosphere is steady in the market.
Traders expect that Caprolactam market will show a steady consolidation in the days to come.
