Indo-German technical textile business poised for huge growth

Emphasizing the need for a comprehensive data on technical textile industry, Mr. Joshi said that the baseline survey on technical textile industry in India covering details of raw materials, technology, and machinery, and details of producers, consumers, importers and exporters of all categories of Technical Textiles can be accessed from the Government website.
Emphasizing the importance of skill development for the technical textile industry, Mr. Premal Udani, Chairman, FICCI Apparel Committee, & Apparel Export Promotion Council appealed to the members of VDMA to initiate programmes for skill development for the workers of the Indian technical textile industry to enable them produce world class technical textile products adopting international best practices in the manufacturing process. He also stressed on the need for collaboration in R&D in technical textiles, between India and Germany.
