Mitsui Chemicals, Japan had shutdown its olefins conversion unit (OCU), which has a propylene production capacity of 150,000 tons per year on February 28.
Official sources at Mitsui conveyed to Fibre2fashion that the OCU located in Chiba, which was shut down on February 28, will be restarted somewhere around March 15, 2010.
The shutdown of the OCU has been attributed to an unplanned closure of the company's steam cracker because of some trouble.
