K.P Petrochemicals (Honam Petrochemicals), based in Yeosu, South Korea has undertaken maintenance of its PTA plant number - 2 from March 15, 2010.
Official sources from K.P Petrochemicals confirmed to fibre2fashion that the plant which has a capacity of 350,000 tons per year will be shut down for a period of only 3-4 days.
Earlier, fibre2fashion had learnt that the PTA plant number -3 was supposed to go off-stream from March 15 for a period of two weeks, which the company has now postponed.
The source also said that another PET chips manufacturing unit of K.P Petrochemicals will also undergo maintenance from April 19, 2010.
This PET chips plant, which has a capacity of 300,000 tons per annum, will remain off-stream for a period of 30 days.
