EDI to help in revitalising Gujarat textile clusters

After lending a helping hand to the Jamnagar brass-parts and components cluster and Rajkot's engineering cluster, the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDI), Ahmedabad, is now out to assist the revival of Vadodara's engineering cluster and also textile machinery clusters at Ahmedabad, Surat and Surendranagar.

As EDI's efforts to revitalise the brass-parts and components cluster at Jamnagar in Gujarat is , accomplished, it is now engaged in enforcing the revitalization plans for engineering cluster in Vadodara and the textile machinery clusters at Ahmedabad, Surat and Surendranagar.

Mr Yogesh Agrawal, President, EDI and Chairman, IDBI Bank Ltd., while speaking at the institute's 11th Convocation of the 'Post-Graduate Diploma in Management - Business Entrepreneurship' (PGDMBE) and 'Post-Graduate Diploma in Management of NGOs', said that the institute has marked its success in strategizing the handicraft and handloom clusters across the country.

Mr Vijay Mallya, Chairman, UB Group, who was present at the function in his capacity as Chief Guest, said that, as we take a look at some of the India's leading companies like Reliance and Airtel and will discover that, it is the entrepreneur spirit which works behind their success.

Also, he while citing the example of Microsoft quoted that, it was this spirit of entrepreneurship that made it successful, a company that was founded by college dropouts.
