Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association's (PCGA) Central Executive Committee (CEC) rejected the Value-Added Tax (VAT), claiming that this tax has been imposed by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) without consulting the stakeholders.
A meeting in this regard had been organised among the officials of the association which was headed by Mr. Haji Mohammad Akram, Chairman PCGA CEC.
Considering Value-Added Tax (VAT) as an unsafe step against cotton trade, the association rejected this tax, said the PCGA spokesman Mr. Shahazad Ali Khan.
Formation of Pakistan Cotton Forum (PCF) to boost up the production of cotton in the country has been appreciated by CEC, added the spokesman.
