Wool group welcomes funding for audit program

The wool industry in Australia has wholeheartedly welcomed the decision of the Federal Government to fund the system of auditing production methods of wool along with documenting animal welfare.
According to Wool Producers, a lobby group, one of the functions of the audit is to let the global buyers know, whether the wool has come from mulesed sheep and this funding will definitely help the process.
The group added by saying that since long, global retailers and buyers have been insisting on a transparent method and have been demanding a better quality assurance program of certifying mulesed wool.
