Comparison of supply and demand of cotton in China reveals that, the gap between demand and supply will be 2.826 million tons in the next cotton year, as per a forecast made by the US Department of Agriculture.
The report predicts that China's cotton production will be 7.185 million tons next year, 109,000 tons more than the current year; consumption will be 10.669 million tons, an increase of 327,000 tons.
Gap between production and sales will touch 3.484 million tons. China is expected to import 2.504 million tons cotton next year, in order to compensate for sales gap, an increase of 327,000 tons.
