Polyester filament prices decline in previous week

In the just concluded week, polyester filament prices in Shengze and Jia Xing markets fell 200-400 Yuan per ton, due to cost pressures from upstream sector and lack of support from downstream sector.

From market trends of varieties, FDY54D/24F, 75D/36F still commanded demand. FDY75D ranged between 13,600-13,800 Yuan / ton, as it found support from downstream users.

FDY63D in mainstream market lacked trade volume, current price was focused at 14,000 Yuan/ ton, while 63D lowered to 13,800-13,900 Yuan / ton.

Quotations of FDY100D/48F, 150D/96F fell 200-300 Yuan / ton in the market, and actual transactions stood at 13,200 Yuan and 12,400 Yuan / ton. FDY150D/96F had less demand, while FDY135D/36F found demand in the market.

Among super bright FDY products, 50D was saleable, but 75D and 108D performed poorly, due to which prices fell 200 / ton to touch 14,000 Yuan / ton and 13,600 Yuan / ton, respectively.

Market prices of POY50D/48F, 75D/96F, 100D/96F were 12,000 Yuan / ton, 11,800 Yuan / ton and 11,600 Yuan / ton, respectively, down 200-300 Yuan / ton from the previous week.

DTY75D, 100D and 150D were traded at 14,400 Yuan / ton, 13,400 Yuan / ton and 12,700 Yuan / ton, of which 150D had moderate demand from downstream sector. DTY black filament 75D was offered around 15,400 Yuan / ton.

Although overall operation rate of looms was stable, the arrival of the textile off-season witnessed a decline in purchasing power. Polyester filament market is expected to plunge further next week.
