This year, carpet manufacturers from Turkey foresee their exports touching around US $1 billion.
According to members of a Turkish carpet association, for 2010 they intend to increase their overseas sales of machine-made carpets by 25-30 percent, thereby, making a turnover of around $1 billion by end of the year. An expert even added that, the exports to America soared the most during the initial three months of 2010.
The association in 2008 earned revenue of around $794 million by exporting machine-made carpets. But for 2009, this amount came down and was recorded at $746 million.
Nonetheless, during the initial three months of 2010, this again rose by 28 percent registering $185 million.
