With an objective to popularize Malaysian textiles in foreign countries, the state government is set to promote Terengganu batik and songket in France, Italy and Spain in the month of October.
This one week promotion campaign, would cover the fashion capitals of Paris, Milan and Barcelona, and will be led by Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said.
On June 12, the Terengganu Entrepreneur Development Foundation (YPU) will set up a T'Craftf shop at Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC), wherein Terengganu handicrafts like batik, songket, copper and wooden products would be sold.
YPU intends to open T'Craftf shops in all major towns in the peninsula, and also plans to set up 100 T'Shop retail shops across the nation by the year 2013 in addition to the 11 shops in Terengganu, Melaka, Kedah and Selangor.
