Country witnesses surge in exports of hand-woven carpets

Within the first two months of the current Iranian calendar, starting March 21, the country's exports of hand-woven carpets have gone up, both in terms of value and volume, as against the same period last year.
The sum total of exported carpets touched $56 million in the period under consideration from previous year's recorded figure of $43.6 million.
While last year the weight of the carpets was 700 tons, this year it was recorded at 800 tons. These number depict, almost 28.37 percent and 15.96 percent rise in value and volume, respectively.
