Chiefs of State Handloom Boards meet in Delhi

A two-day meeting of the State Directors of Handloom Boards was held on June 16-17, to review the impact of various initiatives taken for the development and welfare of handloom sector and weavers.
Various schemes implemented by the government for preservation of the unique handloom skills too were among the deliberations at the meeting, which was held at the International Centre in New Delhi.
The meeting was organised by the Office of the Development Commissioner for Handlooms. 26 Commissioners and Directors of Handlooms and Textiles from all the states, including seven from the North-east were present at the meeting.
