Seldamaex exports first lot of cotton

Seldamaex cotton ginning plant, based in Battambang province of Cambodia exported its first consignment of raw cotton totaling to 100 tons and cotton seeds amounting to 360 tons in the previous month.
According to Director, Kong Chan, 50 tons of cotton was dispatched to Vietnam, 40 tons to China and 10 tons to Japan and the whole lot of cotton seeds to Vietnam.
He said that the first consignment of raw cotton was a sample which was considered as acceptable quality by the buyers and was sold at US $2,200 per ton, while cotton seed fetched $250 per ton.
As per his expectations, they plan to export another 200 tons of raw cotton and 400 tons of seed cotton to these three countries throughout the year.
