Carbon tariffs to bring in unemployment scenario

Studies and estimates about the impact on employment of industrial sector show that, under the scenario of US $30 carbon tariff rate, employment would drop 1.22 percent in the first year, and 1.18 percent in the fifth year.

Under the scenario of US $60 carbon tariff rate, employment would reduce 2.39 percent in the first year, and cut 2.33 percent in the fifth year.

The highest proportion of job reduction would be in five industries: instruments of office machinery; communication, electronics equipment; electrical machinery equipment; textile, garment leather and feather products.
