Latex International ventures in to Malaysia with new plant

Talalay latex mattresses and pillow manufacturer, Latex International, will be setting up a 251,000-square-foot latex plant in Malaysia to support its growth in the Asian and European markets.
The new plant, Dunlop Latex Foam (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, will be a unit of Latex International, and will commence operation from 2011 summer. It is likely to be the only plant, developed by a key latex supplier, which will manufacture both Talalay and Dunlop process latex foams.
As per Kevin Coleman, CEO, Latex International, this is one of the key steps taken towards the firm's expansion. Based on the firm's growth, Latex is constructing global infrastructure to support the same.
Coleman also added that, with the firm reaching out to newer markets, within the past couple of years, it also commenced focussing on newer global-based opportunities.
In this time span, Latex International has developed sales and service organisations in South America, Europe and Asia. The company's sales, to markets outside US, have also registered an increment of more than 25 percent of their net earnings. The new plant is a necessity to serve the customer's needs, both from a latex production viewpoint and also from the view of shipments, averred Coleman.
The new plant in Malaysia will comprise of an environmentally friendly design, including a waste water treatment plant, which will recycle water for the purpose of production, a power management system and high-efficiency manufacturing equipment.
