Outright worker's agitation continues for fourth day

01
Jul '10
It is for the fourth consecutive day that, three of the factories of the Outright Group located in the outskirts of Dhaka in Kafrul remained shut, as workers of these factories have commenced agitation on streets, insisting that, their annual salary increments take place on time.

The workers, Tuesday morning, teamed up at the area, but instead of resuming their duties staged a dharna.

A senior executive of Outright Group accepted that, the mayhem stirred up on Saturday, after the Production Manager of the firm smacked a female employee, for her flawed working. But this mayhem took a new form later, as workers gained grounds with fresh demands, he stated.

Since then, hundreds of thousands of workers have been agitating, while lobbying for their 14-point demands, which also includes, instant payment of their annual wage increments.
