Salmoiraghi says that “We're returning from this trade fair with a few more reasons to be hopeful for the future of our industry. We're still navigating at murky waters, so to speak, in that the overall economic situation is still far from showing a solid path to recovery; and this in spite of the fact that our machinery manufacturers have been demonstrably active and prompt in seizing new business opportunities.”
Important news from Shanghai also touched on issues related to industrial property, with 29 instances of industrial property rights violations by Chinese manufacturers being denounced at the trade fair. Of these, 21 were confirmed by the authorities, and the machinery in question removed from the stands. Fully 15 of the 29 infractions concerned Italian industrial patents.
