The Trade, Association and Business Publications International (TABPI) awards for publication excellence are called “Tabbies.” AATCC (American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists) was honored with a Tabbie in the Feature Article category for an in-depth feature article on recycled textile fibers. "Everything Old is New Again" was published in the March 2009 issue of AATCC Review.

The Tabbie awards committee considered almost 500 editorial and design entries from around the globe. Other winners in the same category included Chemist + Druggist, Computerworld, Automotive News, and the Institution of Engineering and Technology's Engineering & Technology.

This was AATCC Review's first Tabbie, but not the first time it has garnered an award. Since publication of AATCC Review began in 2001, the journal has received 12 awards for excellence. Thiry earned six of those awards for her feature articles on textiles and the textile industry.

AATCC is the world's leading not-for-profit association serving textile professionals since 1921. AATCC, headquartered in Research Triangle Park, N.C., USA, provides test method development, quality control materials, and professional networking for members in about 60 countries throughout the world.
