CPL & nylon chip prices stable

In Chinese market, Caprolactam (CPL) prices remained stable around RMB 19,200 / ton. Cargoes imported from East European market were offered at US $2,250 / ton.

Caprolactam market sentiment was quite poor as purchasing activities remained limited. Buyers were quite hopeful for further price reduction in CPL as many of its feedstock values were corrected.

In Chinese market, Nylon chips prices remained stable around RMB 21,400. In Asian market price of Nylon chip was in the range of $2,600-2,650/ton.

Prices of Nylon POY, FDY and DTY prices also remained stable around RMB 24,800 / ton, RMB 25,800 / ton and RMB 28,200 / ton respectively.

French group Rhodia will invest $10 million in its Sao Paulo (Brazil) based polyamide plant to increase its production capacity.

Rhodia also plans to invest $200 million in Brazil over the next three to four years, out of which 70 percent will go towards capacity expansion.
