Raymond and NRC management have been recently forewarned by the State Government that they immediately need to pay the outstanding dues of their workers, failing which, they would not be permitted to shut their factories and utilize that land for commercial gains.
Labour Minister, Hassan Mushrif, while responding to this attention seeking notice stated before the legislative assembly that, if worker's dues are not cleared, then they won't be sanctioning the NOC for developing the land. As also, they will not let the units to close down.
Eknath Khadse, a political leader, who previously got in the discussion stated that, it is quite surprising that, the company wants to closed down the unit despite, generating revenues worth Rs 11 billion.
Another political leader pointed towards the fact that, the company was not making timely payments to its employees. He claimed that, as three of the company's employees have passed away, the management is to be blamed for their demise.
More over, the actual value of NRC unit's land, sums up to Rs 5 billion, whereas, on papers it has been shown as of worth only Rs 2 billion. He demanded that, an investigation be carried out to unveil these anomalies.
