Embroidery stakes claim to Guinness record

A Chinese artist along with 25 other fellowmen has laid claimed to a place in the Guinness Book of World records for developing the longest piece of embroidery.

The embroidery piece has a length of 25 meters and a width of just less than a meter and took the team around two years to complete.

The embroidery piece took up more than 50,000 meters of sewing thread of 120 different colours and has 3,150,000 stitches embedded within it.
